MAD MEN

E’ appena finita la prima serie di MAD MAN, trasmessa dal canale satellitare CULT. Mad man era il nome che si erano dati i pubblicitari di New York degli anni sessanta e deriva dal nome della strada dove risiedevano le principali agenzie di pubblicità della grande mela, Madison Avenue. La serie è ambientata nel 1960 proprio in una di queste agenzie e tutto ruota intorno allo splendido personaggio di Donald Draper, capo dei creativi dell’agenzia Sterling & Cooper, pupillo dei soci e reduce dalla guerra in Corea. La vita dello studio e dei suoi dipendenti si intreccia con quello delle mogli in una versione anni ‘60 delle casalinghe disperate.
Splendidi i processi creativi di alcune campagne pubblicitarie che hanno portato a storici slogan e che nella serie vengono bene resi come bella è anche la caratterizzazione dei personaggi: il già citato Donald Draper, la sua intelligente segretaria che grazie alle sue capacità farà carriera in un mondo maschile, i due soci fondatori della Sterling & Cooper, il giovane cinico e arrivista, le varie mogli e segretarie.
E’ una serie che lascia il segno e che difficilmente vedremo sulla TV generalista. Nel frattempo resto in attesa della seconda serie adattissima invece per un canale come CULT.
